On 21 May a team of around 30 Leeds athletes, ranging from U13 to U17, made the journey over to Grimsby to represent their club in the second fixture of the Yorkshire and District League.  Leeds was in first position in their division following the first fixture in Cleckheaton last month and this position was extended after fixture 2 with a comfortable win of more than 150 points over second place.

The club was very well represented across the majority of events in both track and the field, recording a high percentage of first and second place individual finishes and a good number of PBs.  Special shout out to Matilda and Dizire (U13G) and Lily (U15G) who were competing in their first ever athletics competition, and to Rebecca (U13G) who set a new league record in the shot putt.

It was a great day for athletics and I think most people finished the day a little sunkissed!  Thank you to all parents for continuing to transport your athletes to training and competitions, and thank you for all of the support on the day.  The cheers for the relay teams at the end of the meeting were particularly spectacular!
