A trip down the M62 was no barrier to Leeds City athletes and families on Saturday for Match 2 of the UK YDL, hosted in Hull.

A full report on every single PB and moment of success is impossible, but it is safe to say that Leeds City held its own against strong teams from York, Lincoln, Hull, Hallam and Harrogate.

Where to start; Tife taking on the brand new challange of the Discus and Javalin, or Layla soaring in the Pole Vault. Perhaps Brodie setting a new club record in the 1200m or Isobelle smashing her previous PB in the Long Jump, currently best in Yorkshire and 6th in the UK.

Rebecca, feeling a little disappointed in herself, but still won the Shot and set a new PB in the Hurdles; nothing but pride from the club! How about Morgan setting a blistering time in the 100m and Malachi setting a new benchmark for himself in the Long Jump. Maybe we should start with Grace, who exudes nothing but confidence as she comfortably won her sprints. Another club record smashed in the 4 x 300m, as the girls set a new standard for others to aim for.

Darlene, making her coaches proud, and Femi and Ife improving rapidly with each competition. Marnie, fully rested, set new PBs in the 75m and 150m.

Lets continue with Lola and Lauren, proving that training hard and never giving up, pays dividends on the track!

The problem isn’t knowing where to start, its knowing where to stop!

A MASSIVE thanks to each and every athlete, named or not, their parents for supporting them and of course the coaches and Team Managers, who without their dedication, none of this would be possible.
