Most common questions ....
Whether you’re new to athletics or a seasoned runner, we’re here to make sure you have all the information you need. Check out our FAQs below for quick answers to the questions we get asked most.
Are there trial sessions for new athletes?
Yes. All new athletes can attend 2 ‘taster sessions’ (trial sessions) to see if the club is a good fit. The sessions cost £5 for junior and senior athletes. Wheelchair athletes receive the first taster session free to ensure equipment compatibility.
Do I need to compete to join?
Yes. Leeds City AC is a competitive club, and participation in competition is important for athlete development. It is expected that all athletes compete in the club vest throughout the year. Coaches provide support and guidance to help members prepare for competitions.
Who are the coaches, and what qualifications do they have?
All of our coaches are qualified, experienced, and passionate about helping athletes reach their potential. They hold nationally recognised coaching certifications and have extensive experience working with all ages and abilities. Many have competed at regional or national levels themselves, giving them first-hand insight into training and competition. For more details on each coach’s background and qualifications, please see our coaches page.
