Leeds City A.C. rely solely on volunteers to manage & run the club on a day to day basis so anyone who is willing to spare a little time to assist the club would be very welcome. We have various roles within the club that you can help with:
Coaches/Coaching assistants: Because we are such a popular athletic club our member numbers are growing all the time so we are constantly looking to add to our coaching staff. If anyone is interested in taking on a coaching course & be able to commit to coaching on club nights then the coaching course will be FULLY FUNDED by the club. Officials/judges courses: Have you ever been to a competition and NOT heard the organiser asking for helpers to officiate? Have you ever been to a competition & thought “why is this long jump taking soooooo long? now there’s a clash of events because this long jump is 1 hour late !!!”, well this is your opportunity to make a difference. Amateur athletics relies COMPLETELY ON VOLUNTEERS, all the officials you see at each competition are doing that FOR FREE!!, so please don’t give them a hard time if schedules start to slip, instead you should help them out. You can book a Level 1 Officials course online HERE, its a really simple, easy & fun course that will be FULLY FUNDED by Leeds City A.C. and you will gain a Level 1 qualification that will enable you officiate at any event nationally. You will also be automatically included into the Leeds City A.C. officiating team for the YDL matches, this qualifies you for the legendary free YDL Lunch Bag on matchdays!.
